About this policy: Master Chat is a messaging and translation application. This Privacy Policy explains how Master Chat collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use our services.
1. Introduction and scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Master Chat mobile application (including the Android package pro.masterchat.app), masterchat.pro, and related services operated for Master Chat.
We collect and use information where it supports account operation, communication features, security, reliability, and processing you request (such as translation or speech features).
2. Age requirement
Master Chat is intended for users age 13 and older. If local law requires a higher minimum age or guardian consent, you must meet those requirements before using the service.
Master Chat is not directed to children under 13. Users must be at least 13 years old, or meet any higher minimum age or consent requirement under applicable local law. The app does not currently collect date of birth or present a hard age gate.
3. Information users provide
Depending on how you use Master Chat, you may provide:
- Phone number (required for account authentication)
- Display name and username
- Preferred language
- Optional profile fields such as job title, business or company name, and bio
- Optional profile photo
Current account/profile models do not include email/password signup, date of birth, gender, or postal address fields.
4. Phone authentication and OTP
Master Chat uses Firebase Phone Authentication to verify your phone number. When you sign in or re-authenticate (for example for account deletion), a one-time verification code (OTP) may be sent via the authentication provider.
OTP codes are used for verification. Master Chat does not store the OTP code itself as part of your lasting account profile. Firebase Authentication maintains the authentication session and related account identifiers (including a Firebase user ID).
5. Contacts and contact discovery
Contact access is optional. If you grant the device contacts permission, Master Chat may read local contact fields such as display name, phone number, photo URI, and primary-number flags to present contacts and find people already on Master Chat.
For discovery matching, normalized E.164 phone numbers may be sent to Master Chat’s backend. Contact names and photos are used for on-device presentation and are not uploaded for contact-discovery matching. Matching uses protected server-side indexing (including HMAC-based indexing of registered numbers) rather than storing your full address book as a remote copy.
If you deny contacts permission, you can continue using Master Chat without contact discovery.
6. Camera and QR
Camera access is used when you choose to scan a Master Chat QR code. QR flows use short-lived connection tokens and are not designed to expose your phone number inside the QR payload.
You may also choose a profile photo from your device (system photo picker) for upload. Master Chat does not continuously record the camera. Current product messaging does not include image or video chat attachments.
7. Microphone, voice, and speech processing
Microphone access is used for user-triggered voice recording and speech features. When you use speech recognition, translation-to-speech, or related voice features, audio or derived text may leave your device for processing.
- Speech-to-text may use OpenAI Whisper via Master Chat backend functions.
- Text-to-speech may use Google Cloud Text-to-Speech / Gemini TTS via Master Chat backend functions.
- Voice-related audio may be stored in Firebase Storage when needed to complete sharing or playback.
8. Messages and user content
Master Chat stores messaging content needed to operate conversations. Current message types include text and voice-translation messages. Depending on features you use, we may process and store:
- Message content and message type
- Original and/or translated text and related translation metadata
- Timestamps and delivery or read state
- Presence / last-seen related information subject to your privacy settings
- Safety information if you block or report another user (identifiers, reason codes, optional details, timestamps)
Message content is shared with intended conversation participants. Privacy settings can limit some peer-visible profile fields; they do not remove information required to operate authentication or a feature you request.
9. Translation
When you request translation, message text and language selections may be processed by Google Cloud Translation (Translation API v3) through Master Chat backend functions. Original and translated text, detected language information, and status metadata may be stored with messages.
Translation is not represented as happening only on your device.
10. Notifications
To deliver push notifications, Master Chat may store Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration tokens and limited app/device metadata such as platform, app identifier, environment, and app version.
By current design, push notification data payloads use generic preview types and do not include the full message body.
11. Analytics and diagnostics
Master Chat uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage and improve reliability. Device and app diagnostic information may be processed as part of these services.
Google measurement components associated with Analytics may process advertising identifiers on some devices. Master Chat does not currently display ads and does not use a first-party advertising UI such as AdMob. This policy does not claim that advertising identifiers are never processed by measurement SDKs.
12. Service providers and third parties
Master Chat relies on service providers to operate features. Depending on the feature you use, processors may include:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Crashlytics, Analytics)
- Google Cloud Translation
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech / Gemini TTS
- OpenAI Whisper (speech recognition)
- Google Play services
These providers process information according to their role in operating the app and their applicable terms. We do not claim that information is never processed by third parties.
13. How information is used
- Authenticate users and maintain account sessions.
- Provide messaging, contact discovery, profile, translation, voice, and notification features.
- Apply privacy settings and safety restrictions (including block/report handling).
- Protect service integrity, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and troubleshoot failures.
- Maintain reliability through analytics and crash diagnostics.
- Comply with applicable obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
15. Security
Master Chat transmits data over encrypted network connections and uses technical and organizational safeguards such as authenticated access, Firebase security rules, app integrity controls (including App Check for sensitive backend callables), bounded service interfaces, and access restrictions.
Master Chat communications are not end-to-end encrypted. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
16. Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain account and conversation functions, honor privacy and safety controls, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet applicable obligations. Different categories may have different retention needs. Exact retention schedules are not fixed in this policy.
After an account deletion request, eligible account and profile information may be deleted or de-identified. Some shared content and limited records may remain where reasonably necessary for conversation integrity, security, fraud prevention, report handling, backup rotation, or legal obligations.
17. Account deletion
You can delete your account using the in-app account deletion control (which may require phone re-authentication). Public instructions are also available at https://masterchat.pro/delete-account.html.
Where supported, account deletion removes your Master Chat account/profile-associated records and your Firebase Authentication user. Messages already shared with other people may remain as conversation records for participants or service integrity. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your account.
18. Children’s privacy
Master Chat is intended for users age 13 and older. If a higher minimum age or guardian consent is required where you live, those rules apply. Master Chat is not directed to children under 13.
19. International processing
Master Chat uses cloud providers that may process information in countries where they operate. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence, subject to applicable laws and provider safeguards.
20. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the service develops. The current version will be posted at masterchat.pro with a revised effective date where appropriate.
